There’s something about fall that I just love. The cooler mornings, the changing colours, the smell of the earth, and the feeling of slowing down after a busy summer. It’s a time to reflect, take stock of what we’ve learned, and appreciate the simple things. Fall reminds me that there’s beauty in every season of life.
|
One of the things I love about the cooler weather returning is that I finally have a little more time to sit at my computer and work on our website! I’ve been teaching myself how to build and improve my website for years now, and I think I can cautiously say I’m actually getting better at it! 😂 It still takes me a ridiculous amount of time to figure things out, but I genuinely enjoy learning and
seeing it all come together.
So, bear with me as we try something new! This is a bit of a trial run, and my focus has been on making the shopping experience easier, especially for new customers who might not know where to start. I’ve been working on a step-by-step shopping experience to help guide you through our products and make ordering a little less overwhelming. It’s still a work in progress, but I’m pretty excited to
finally share it!
|
Each week, we put out a newsletter early Saturday morning to give you plenty of time to shop and place your order for the coming week. It’s where we share what’s fresh, what’s in season, new products, weekly specials, and some pretty great deals! We also include updates from around the farm, upcoming workshops, and everything else we’re working on at Small Scale Farms. You’ll find many of the featured
products listed below, making it easy to add your favourites to your cart. Just remember, orders for the coming week’s free delivery need to be placed by Sunday at 7 PM!

Thanks to Steve Soos, who is running for Ward 3 councillor in Welland, my Vote Small Scale Farms sign is officially up (with permission) at the corner of
Woodlawn and Niagara Street.
Steve and I have worked together for years, and there’s a great deal of mutual respect between us. He’s someone who brings lived experience to the work he does and has spent years advocating for people facing addiction, mental health challenges and homelessness. He’s fought hard for people who are too often overlooked, and he understands that real change takes more than just talking about the problems.
Over the years, Steve has also become a strong advocate for food security, sharing what he’s learned through his involvement with Small Scale Farms and helping others understand just how important access to affordable food really is.
He’s been one of our most dedicated supporters for as long as I can remember, and I’ve been equally supportive of the work he does in our community. And now, thanks to Steve, Small Scale Farms has officially entered the sign wars...
We may not be running for office, but we’re certainly working toward a better future.

Meat Sale This weekend, we’re making it a little easier to fill your freezer with meat you can feel good about serving your family - and have us delivered.
Choose from locally raised beef, pork, chicken, sausage, and our popular meat bundles—all from farmers who care about raising food the right way. This isn’t anonymous meat shipped from across the country. It’s real food from local farms, raised with pride and brought to our community by people who genuinely care about quality.
Whether you’re planning for summer barbecues, stocking the freezer before prices climb again, or simply looking for better-tasting meat, now is a great time to buy.
Real food. Real meat. Local farms. Sale ends in three days, and many items are available only while quantities last. ❤️

What if your company’s Christmas gifts could do more than just show appreciation for your employees? When you choose Small Scale Farms for your corporate Christmas gifts, you’re supporting local farmers, putting practical food into the homes of your employees and investing in a small business that’s working to build a better local food system. And for us, your support could be transformational. Large corporate orders have the potential to help us grow, expand our reach and move Small Scale Farms into its next chapter. We want to make sure your generosity doesn’t go unnoticed, either. We’ll publicly recognize participating businesses across our social media platforms and in our newsletter, introducing your company to our community of more than 60,000 followers and subscribers. To put that opportunity into perspective, our average monthly Facebook statistics include more than 1 million views, 170,000 viewers and 12,000 content interactions - in just 28 days. This is an opportunity to do something good for your employees, your company and the local economy, while helping a small business with a big mission take its next step. We’re looking for businesses across Niagara and Hamilton that want to make their Christmas giving count this year. Choose your budget. Come shop our market at 13145 Lundy’s Lane. We've got great sales on right now. Squash, apples, pears, grapes, are all rolling in now! Some items are seconds, some are as fresh as fresh gets, but all of it is real food. We're doing everything we can to make good food not only accessible, but affordable. Our meat, milk, eggs, chips, wraps, and specialty products are all carefully selected, with many sourced from farmers and
producers right here in our community.

Most conventional sausages and processed meats contain added nitrates and nitrites as preservatives. More and more families are trying to reduce those ingredients where they can — especially when it comes to food they eat regularly.
That’s why Comfort Farms’ nitrate free heritage pork sausages have become such a favourite around here. Real pork. Real seasoning. No unnecessary fillers or added nitrates. Just honest food raised locally by Bob and Leslie Comfort right here in Niagara.
|
Fresh produce, thoughtfully sourced and priced to move. We bring in a wide mix of everyday staples and seasonal favourites so you can fill your kitchen with more real food for less, all in one stop.

Take the $30 Produce Voucher Challenge! 🌱 Good food has the power to change lives. Our $30 Produce Voucher Challenge makes it easy for businesses, families, and community members to put fresh, healthy food into the hands of someone who needs it most. Buy as many vouchers as you’d like, choose exactly where they go—whether it’s a local family, school, charity, employee, client, or simply someone in need—and we’ll take care of the rest. As a thank you, larger contributions receive recognition through our newsletter, website, or social media, but every voucher makes a real difference. Together, we can build a healthier, stronger community—one fresh meal at a time.
|
How It Works Supporting your community is simple.
Buy one $30 produce voucher and we’ll place it on our voucher wall for someone who needs it. If you buy ten or more, you can direct exactly where they go. Every voucher still turns into fresh food for a local family. Simple, tangible, immediate.

Our Pick & Pack line was built for real life. Fresh fruit and vegetables at prices that actually make sense — because we work hard to move food, reduce waste, and keep good food accessible for more families.
How does it work? You grab a red 1/2 bushel basket, walk the section, and fill it with what your household will actually eat. No subscriptions. No pressure. Just affordable, fresh food in a way that feels simple again. Some weeks it’s farm fresh, some weeks it’s rescue food, some weeks it’s both — but the goal is always the same: keep good food moving through the community instead of watching it get
priced out or thrown away.

Parasites are more common than most people realize. They can be picked up through food, water, pets, travel, gardening, and everyday contact with the world around us. While our bodies are designed to handle a lot, many people choose to do periodic cleanses as part of their overall wellness routine.
Wormwood has been used for centuries in traditional herbal practices and remains one of the most widely used herbs in parasite cleansing protocols today.
|
Looking to try something different? We’re looking for people to help sort our produce. A lot of what comes through here would normally get thrown out. We go through it, save what’s still good, and put it back out into the community at prices people can actually afford. It’s hands-on, it matters, and you see the impact right away. If you’ve been wanting to be part of something real, this is a good place to start.
